Hyakka Ryouran: Samurai Girls

It’s been a while since I did a review so I felt the timing for this one is right.

The story takes place in Japan in the early 21st century, in an alternate reality where the Tokugawa Shogunate has remained in power. In this reality, student councils are tasked with oppressing schools. Yagyuu Muneakira is a high school student who rebels against his student council with the help of girls who’ve had the names of famous samurai heroes passed on to them.

The plot advancement is pretty easy to follow so you don’t really have to worry about missing things. I believe the art style is called wash board paint or something similar but I really liked the art. Character development there was some but felt they could be more and as I mention earlier the plot is pretty simple but still pretty good. As for characters themselves I thought they had some pretty unique ones in there. I also liked how the main guy was not a wussy wimp baby like must guys in anime like these he actually fights along side the girls. Mal score for me was a 9.
